Familiarization Tours
A Familiarization "Fam Tour" is a tour that has been designed with the tour leader in mind. In order for a Fam Tour to be established,  Tours & Travel has needed to negotiate in advance very special discounted rates with both the airlines, hoteliers, motorcoach companies, restaurants and guides, to be able to offer a comprehensive tour to help familiarize the tour leader with the destination being featured. Tours & Travel has specially selected departure dates throughout the year, usually only one date per year per destination, based on off-season travel to any one of the following destinations, Israel - The Holy Land; Greece - Walk in the Footsteps of Paul; Germany - Sites of Reformation Lutherland; British Isles - Reformation and Church History.
Tours & Travel Fam Tours offers these tours to Pastors with discounts by over 50% of the standard tour price, including special discounts available for spouses with discounts by over 40% to accompany them. Tours & Travel believes the spouse is a vital part of leading any successful tour in the future. Tours & Travel, the airlines & hoteliers have made a large investment in each participant that joins one of our Fam Tours, thus it is a moral responsibility each pastor takes when he/she travels on a familiarization tour, that they intend on leading a future tour to one of these destinations with Tours & Travel in the future.
Tours & Travel offers Fam Trips, knowing that a pastor receives many blessings when traveling to these destinations: The Bible Lands; Asia Minor Turkey, Walk in the Footsteps of St. Paul in Greece, Germany & Oberammergau, British Isles, and other locations. Such a tour to one of these destinations provides inspiration, insight and new comprehension which prepares the pastor to lead a future tour from his congregation. It provides the pastor with a greater understanding for his/her own ministry. Thus a pastor makes a good faith covenant to lead a tour back to one of these wonderful destinations in the future. Leading a tour may be shared with another pastor.
In addition, Tours & Travel offers to refund the basic cost of the familiarization tour when the pastor leads a tour with 15/+ passengers and books a tour within 120 days after their return date. Thus a familiarization tour is a great opportunity to travel to a new area and be prepared with additional confidence to lead a tour with Tours & Travel and with reimbursement of the basic cost, the pastor can travel with little to no out-of-pocket expenses except for his/her taxes, tips and optional travel insurance and transportation to the tour departure city.
